Background information

The project involved designing a habitable space by following a prescribed process. The process included several tasks, such as identifying and researching various conditions (e.g. water's edge, bushland, desert), selecting a site based on the findings, analyzing the site, and developing a design concept based on the choices made so far. The project provided a learning experience in understanding the architectural design process, its language and discourse. The proposed design program, named "A Place to Escape," fulfilled the requirements and was eco-friendly. The materials were chosen based on their purpose and function, such as Corrugated Steel  for its durability and fire resistance qualities and wood for the interior for its sustainability and aesthetic appeal.

The tools used for the visualisation included Sketchup, Illustrator and Photoshop. The renderings were created as photomontages on photos of the actual site in Photoshop.
